Entry requirements

International status:

The programme has been designed for non-EU students who want to progress to the University of Bath. You will need to provide copies of your passport, and complete a section on the application form relating to your immigration status to ensure you qualify as an ‘international’ student.

Academic level:

You need to have a high standard of secondary education, with excellent results showing on your school transcripts and exam certificates, especially in subjects related to your chosen degree. Click on the link below to find the minimum entry requirements for different countries. (Please note that these are intended as guidelines only, and meeting the minimum entry requirement does not guarantee a place on the programme.)

If your country is not listed, please send your school transcript and we will give you feedback regarding your eligibility.

English language level:

All students must be able to show evidence of their English language level with a valid IELTS certificate.

The minimum IELTS requirement is 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each part for progression degrees in the School of Management, and 5.5, with at least 5.0 in each part, for all other progression degrees.

Your IELTS certificate must show that you took the test at a centre specifically authorized by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The test report will show your UKVI number. When you register for the test, be sure to confirm that you want to take the test for visa and immigration purposes. For more information, please check the UKVI website.

Please note that we receive a large number of applications each year, and meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee an offer of a place on the programme.

Age requirement:

You must be at least 17 years of age at the beginning of the International Foundation Year.
