Business Level 2
This course provides an excellent insight into different areas of business enabling you to progress to further study or employment. Topics include Enterprise, Principles of Marketing, Business Finance, Customer Service and Work Experience. The taught content is reinforced with external visits and external presenters from across the world of business.
What topics are covered?
To allow you to gain knowledge of business, the course covers units such as:
- Enterprises in the Business World
- Finance for Business
- Promoting a Brand
- Introducing Retail Business

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is most suited for people aged 16-18 and may also meet the needs of mature students up to 20 years.
What are the entry requirements?
Four full GCSE’s at grade D/3 or above or a BTEC Diploma Level 1 in a related subject.

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business

How will I learn?
You will take part in informative and challenging interactive sessions whereby you will be encouraged to develop independent research skills to support you in achieving your targets in each unit.
What hours will I be in college?
Approximately 14-15 hours per week. All students will be expected to use time outside of timetable to take part in team-based activities, assessments, trips etc.
How will I be assessed?
All of the work on the Level 2 Business programme is predominantly course work assessment but there are also a small series of exams. You will be expected to submit evidence in a variety of ways including presentations, role plays, discussions, reports etc., to show your understanding of the units on the programme.
What can I do after this course?
- Progress to a Business level 3 course.
- Find employment within the industry in a variety of exciting roles.
