Head Coach and Category 1 Manager

The Football Academy programme has been run under the direction of Billy Clark since 2009.

Billy combines his role as the Head Coach of Bath City Academy with a coaching role at the University of Bath alongside the Head of Football Che Wilson where several former Academy players/students now train and study on the Performance Programme. Billy holds a UEFA A licence, a qualification that he has held since 2007.

During a coaching career that began in 1998, Billy has coached at various levels including Clevedon Town first team and the Bristol Rovers under 18s.

As a player Billy made around 350 senior appearances in a 16 year career at AFC Bournemouth, Bristol Rovers and Exeter City. Added to this he played part time at Forest Green Rovers, Newport County, Weston Super Mare and Clevedon Town before retiring to become a full time coach in 2007.

James Moon

Sports Lecturer and Category 2 Manager

James is a Sports Lecturer and former pupil at Bath College. He represented Bristol Rovers for eight years at youth level and Bath City at Under 18’s. He has since played locally for Larkhall Athletic and Odd Down FC.

James has obtained a degree in Sport and Exercise Science with Coaching and Teaching at university, is an UEFA B licensed coach and is assistant manager of Frome Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.

Paul Blenkinsopp

Programme Leader

Paul is the programme leader and tutor of the Bath City Football Academy. He has taught across a variety of levels and has been in charge of education programmes for a number of different sporting academies. Paul is a lecturer on the programme and holds a UEFA B coaching licence.

Laura Smith

Sports Lecturer Coach and Lead Academy Tutor

Laura is a full time Sports Lecturer and also a former student of Bath College. She has a number of fitness based qualifications and prior to attending university to become a teacher worked in the fitness industry where she taught both private and group exercises classes in local sports centres including Spinning, Circuits and Aerobic Based exercise classes.

Coming from a Pastoral Manger role in a London school she also a has a lot of pastoral experience and holds a number of relevant qualifications to support this.

Laura is a keen netball player and currently plays in the SouthWest Regional 2 league.

Peter Millett

Sports Lecturer Coach

Peter Millett is a Sports Lecturer and former student at the University of Gloucestershire. Peter began his footballing career playing for Bracknell Town and Wokingham Town in Berkshire eventually representing the first team.

Peter obtained a degree in Sports Development & Coaching and represented the university football team including managing the Men’s football 2nd team. In 2009 Peter began playing futsal and represented Gloucester City and captained the team to the regional finals in 2011.

Peter works as a full time member of staff at the college as a Sports Lecturer and employability officer. He currently holds a FA level 2 coaching certificate and FA Level 1 Futsal coaching certificate.

Rhianna Jamieson

Womens Football Apprentice

Rhianna is the Women’s Football apprentice at the College, with her role being funded by the Football Association. Rhianna will be working with the Football Association and Association of Colleges to provide opportunities for Women and Girls to participate in football, at the college and out in the local community.

Rhianna comes from a very football orientated background, playing since a very young age, representing Wiltshire County, winning numerous national cups and captaining her Yeovil Town Youth side through all the age groups.

Rhainna studied on the Performance and Excellence in Football course at Hartpury College alongside playing for Cheltenham Town Ladies in the FA Women’s National League – Division 1 South West.

She has completed her FA level 1 coaching and aims to go on to complete her level 2 over the next year.
