Next Steps

WELCOME TO YOUR NEXT STEPS IDEA PAGE

Next Steps is an opportunity for you to stop and think about what is next for you.  This page gives you access to inspiring case studies of learners on courses that may be of interest to you, and contacts for key members of staff across our provision and services with dedicated times that you can access them for support.

Your first port of call should always be your tutor.  Make sure you have had a discussion with them about what you want to progress onto next academic year, whether this is another course at another level, sticking with your current programme or looking to go onto work.  The purpose of this page is to signpost you to options available.

NEED SOME INSPIRATION?

Thinking about your future can be a little daunting, and perhaps you aren’t too sure what’s going to be best for you. The first thing you should do is talk to your tutor, they will have lots of helpful advice and be able to help you do what you want to do. If you need some inspiration we have collated a collection of stories about students’ Next Steps, how they got there, how they feel now and where they are heading. Have a read! HOW ABOUT SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

The Students’ Union is currently looking for students to fill its Officer roles, there’s lots of exciting ways you can get involved and have an impact on the way your SU is run. Aside from looking fantastic on a CV or Personal Statement, the roles are a great way to gain experience, make a difference and have some fun. The SU President role is also a paid year long role, which is a great way to fill a gap year or start your new career after College. You can find out more about the roles, and apply by clicking HERE.

If you have any questions about the role, one of our amazing Student Participation Officers will be hosting a live Facebook chat on the Students’ Union Facebook Page, on the 30th April 2020, starting at 2pm. Dan, the current SU President, did a short interview on what its like to work as the Student Union President, which you can read by clicking HERE.
