You may be entitled to a reduced fee if you are 19-23 inclusive, studying a Level 1 course in a new subject and you do not already have a Full Level 2 or a Full Level 3 qualification and it is your intention to use the Level 1 course as a progression route to a Full Level 2 .
What is a Full Level 2 or 3 course?
A full Level 2 qualification is 5 GCSEs A*-C, NVQ 2, or equivalent.
A full Level 3 course is Access to Higher Education, BTEC National Award, Certificate or Diploma, NVQ Level 3, 2 or A-levels.
Free tuition on first Full Level 2 and 3 courses
If you are eligible for free first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 courses you need not pay tuition fees. You will, however, need to pay exam and materials fees for some courses.
First full Level 2 courses for adults
If you are aged 19-23 inclusive and do not currently hold a full Level 2 qualification or above, you may be entitled to free tuition regardless of your employment or income status when you enrol for your first full Level 2 course.
First full Level 3 courses for adults
If you are aged 19-23 inclusive and do not currently hold a full Level 3 qualification or above, you may be entitled to free tuition regardless of your employment or income status when you enrol for your first full Level 3 course..
However not all of our level 3 courses are eligible for a reduced fee please check this list for courses that are not eligible. If you are studying one of the eligible courses not listed and it is your first level 3 qualification then you will be eligible to pay a reduced fee.
Free tuition on first full level 2 and 3 courses only applies to Skills Funding Agency (SFA) funded eligible courses.
