Animal Care Land-based Diploma Level 1

Course Overview

Do you have a genuine interest in animals? This hands-on Animal Care Land-based Diploma Level 1 introductory programme provides you with the practical skills and foundation knowledge needed to progress onto further animal care qualifications or to gain entry-level employment within the animal care industry.

 

The course covers the basics of handling, feeding and the setting up of accommodation for a wide range of species, ensuring you to learn how to work safely to care for the daily needs of the animals in our extensive onsite custom-built animal collection.

What are the entry requirements?

Four full GCSEs at grades G/1 or above, with literacy and numeracy to at least entry level. You will need to show a genuine interest in working with animals through previous work experience. You will also need to attend a formal interview.

How will I learn?

There will be a mixture of theory and supported self-study periods, with an emphasis on practical application.

What can I do after this course?

Progress on to the Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care.
