Counselling Skills Level 2 Certificate
This Counselling Level 2 course you will focus on the development of your counselling skills. The course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to a range of counselling skills and an understanding of the importance of using counselling skills within published ethical frameworks, such as those from the National Counselling Society (NCS), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). This course will also help to increase your self-awareness.
What topics are covered?
You will develop your understanding of how to support others with grief and loss, counselling theory and develop key counselling skills.
What are the entry requirements?
You will have good communication skills and enjoy working closely with others.
An interview is required. Applicants for this course must be aged 16 or over.

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through written journals, practical role play, a short external exam, written assignment and professional discussion.
What can I do after this course?
This is a course that helps in both your personal and professional development. Learners may progress onto Level 3 Certificate in Counselling to enhance their knowledge of counselling skills and theory. For those wishing to work towards a professional qualification enabling them to work as a counselling practitioner, learners may progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Practice.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Notepad and pen.

What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full.
