Great information clearly given, I would have liked to see a bit more tuition on light room but the photographic theory was excellent.

Really calm patient tutor with lots of advice. There was a little confusion about being collected from the foyer but apart from that, it was great.

I started the course an enthusiastic snapper and by the end I had become a serious amateur. Not only did I gain an excellent grounding of the basic photographic techniques but I was introduced to photography as an art form. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would recommend it to anyone who would like to become more interested and proficient in photography.

The tutor was clearly knowledgable and very helpful answering questions explaining things. it would be good to spilt the group a bit depending on prior knowledge of photography and use of photoshop etc as it can be frustrating to wait for people all the time.
Maybe highlight on the webpage that the 10 and 5 week course have the same content so those who have a bit more experience can do the 5 week one.

This was a fantastic course, as a true beginner to photography this really helped me understand how a DSLR camera works, and I can now use my camera properly! We covered subjects such as nighttime & studio photography, aperture, shutter speed and ISO.

The teacher is great and willing to help whenever you have questions.

I would highly recommend this course.

It was great, tilt shift lens was particularly interesting to see although it would have been good to actually use.

Really enjoyed the course and I’ve learnt a lot, everything that i wanted to. However, I think the course is a little bit long, perhaps it could be shortened by a couple of weeks or each session cut by 30 mins. I wasn’t as interested in the Photoshop bits as I was about learning how to use the camera. Which i have done.
    I would recommend this course.

A great course for anyone who has a Dlsr and is not confident about shooting in anything other than ‘auto’. I didn’t think that i’d be shooting in manual mode and adjusting settings by the end, but this is in fact the end result. Really pleased that my dlsr is being used more. Topics that were covered included, photoshop, RAW, iso, aperture, shutter speeds, studio photography, night photography and a great deal more. Great value course.

This was an excellent course. I started as a total beginner, with a camera I had little idea how to use to it’s fullest. The tutor guided the class through the basics of photography and some great techniques to use. I now have the camera off automatic and on manual at all times. The teacher is great and gave individual help to all participants. I would thoroughly recommend this course.

I only attended the first two sessions. The course was poorly structured, no introduction or rapport building among the class, no learning objectives and sessions were unstructured. At no time had we been told we would be spending most of the evening outside in the freezing cold, taking photographs which did not support our learning. We would have been better off bringing in photos we had taken previously and critically discussing them in the group. The tutor knew his stuff but was far more interested in social chit chat and helping those in their early 20s than older people and he had no concept of learning styles and preferences so I suspect he is not a qualified tutor. Very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you were disappointed with this course and will look at making the content and the level clearer and perhaps plan to offer a ‘beginners’ course in the future.
