Electrical Installation Level 2 Diploma

If you would like to work as an electrician in Building Services Engineering, this qualification allows you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electrotechnology sector. You will be able to progress into employment or an apprenticeship to become a fully qualified electrician.

What topics are covered?

The main programme consists of five units of study, including:

  • Electrical installation methods.
  • Electrical science and principles.
  • Health and safety.

 

In addition to these modules, units covering areas of building services engineering are delivered. You will also have the opportunity to utilise the IET On-Site Guide.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is aimed at people who wish to change their career or wish to enhance their qualifications within the electrical industry.

What are the entry requirements?

Full GCSE grade C/4 in English, maths and science. You will be required to pass an assessment and you will also be interviewed.

What qualifications will I gain?

You will gain a QCF Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation.

How will I learn?

The main programme is delivered through practical workshop sessions supported by classroom-based theory and laboratory project sessions.

How will I be assessed?

Practical tests are set throughout the course in conjunction with multi-choice exams and assignments. A portfolio of evidence will be produced.

What can I do after this course?

On successful completion of this course, you could continue to the Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation. Alternatively there is a range of flexible and specialised trade training to get you started in your chosen career. There are also numerous opportunities for apprenticeships and work-based learning for those already in employment.

This Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation costs £3345.

Where will I need to go on my first day?

On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Cam Building at Somer Valley Campus.

To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course.
