Sculpture – Hand and Foot
This hand and foot sculpture course will give you an in-depth knowledge of the these areas, and become confident in sculpting them. You will work directly from life and will be able to produce a sculpture each of the foot and the hand. You will gain understanding of techniques, and underlying structure and anatomy that will enable you to make beautiful hands and feet in your own future work.
What topics are covered?
Armature making, and construction and modelling in clay to produce a finished piece. Students will work from life, learning modelling techniques along with the basics of the underlying structure and anatomy of the hands and feet.

Suitable for all levels of sculptural skill from beginners onwards.

How will I learn?
You will model a hand and foot in clay from life, building from a basic wire sculpture. Tuition and practical demonstration will be given for you to gain an understanding of the underlying structure and anatomy.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.

Please wear safety shoes and aprons
What else do I need to know?
Students are encouraged to engage with sculpture outside of the course sessions; i.e. visiting exhibitions/galleries and researching into relevant artists and concepts following on from discussions with their tutor.
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course.
