Introduction to Dyeing Techniques
Introduction to Dyeing Techniques course is a hands on practical course and ideal for beginners. You will learn how to identify and prepare fabrics for dyeing, investigate fabric properties (synthetic and natural) and dyeing techniques using Dysperse, Acid, Reactive, Dyrect, flower, Indigo and natural dyes. You will be encouraged to sample all methods and progress to creating your own mark-made designs which will be transferred to fabric with simple printing techniques. Suitable for beginners.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
- Fabrics of your choice – you will need to source your own fabrics later on in the course and advice will be given by your tutor. Fabric will be provided for initial sampling.
- Notebook and pen.
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full.
