These courses are designed for art and design teachers or for anyone interested in taking printmaking processes into a learning environment. You will be guided through technical information, be provided with handouts to help you record the processes and be given tips on how to deliver back in the classroom. Some processes will be appropriate for school classroom activities, whilst others will introduce you to the specialist equipment available in the college printmaking studio.
What topics are covered?
First hand drawing from observation; Drawing with a range of tools and materials; Development towards printmaking; Monoprinting; Relief printing; Intaglio Printing (drypoint); Sketchbook/A1 sheet presentation of work; Tips on annotation and recording processes.
How will I learn?
You will learn from set tasks and actively producing your own work. You will be given technical demonstrations and learn the dos and donts of basic printmaking. Discussion and peer sharing will be fully encouraged!
Are there any additional costs?
Materials will be provided although extra paper for large print runs may need to be individually purchased. Optional A3 sketchbook for recording work/visual teaching resource.
