I have been surprised and delighted by how much I have learnt in two terms and have found the experience very stimulating.

The college web site has been very difficult to use- enrolling in person is much easier (and more certain; one student in the group enrolled online for the summer daytime course, but found on checking in person, that there was no record of her enrollment). I am keeping my fingers crossed that the daytime course runs in the summer.

This class builds on necessary basic knowledge as outlined in the course requirements. It was a good refresher course and the teacher was lovely and flexible (ideal fitting in around work!).

However personally, I’m not sure if I learned or enjoyed the class as much as I’d have hoped. The first hour of every lesson was the Intercambio, whilst the people I chatted to were lovely, I don’t think my skill level allowed me to have meaningful conversations with them and left me frustrated a lot of the time. I understand the value if at level 3 and up when you are more confident, but at level 2 I think it was a bit of a stretch given the relatively basic skills that are asked of you. I’d have preferred the more traditional style teaching where we cover more material and progressed to the Intercambio at least later in the 9 week course rather than straight away which I think would have been more suitable.
