Vocational Access Programme (VAP) – Entry Level 3 / Level 1
VAP is aimed at young people who have some idea of the area that they want to study, but are unsure of what they would like to do for a career, for employment, or who need more time to develop their confidence in the learning and practical skills. The course offers the chance to gain some experience in several different subject in the chosen area at Entry Level 3 and Level 1 as well as improving English and maths, IT and employment skills.
What topics are covered?
Functional skills English and maths, IT, employment skills, volunteering, work experience and social development qualifications are taken by all students.

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is most suited for people aged 16-18 who are just starting (out on their) vocational learning.
How will I learn?
This is a full time course over 3/4 days a week with a mixture of practical and classroom activities.
How will I be assessed?
Coursework, role plays, practical assessments, completion of a portfolio and online or paper-based assessments.
What can I do after this course?
Students who are successful on VAP will achieve a qualification equivalent to 3/4 GCSE’s at grade D, plus extra qualifications which will begin to develop your CV. You can then go onto study further qualification that specialises in the vocational area of your choice.
