This wood engraving course will teach the basics of wood engraving. Students will learn at their own pace, but by the end of the course, you should have at least one wood engraving to take home with you.
What topics are covered?
Holding a tool, engraving marks, choosing and preparing blocks including wood substitutes, transferring an image onto the block, printing, sharpening tools and appreciation of different wood engravers’ styles.

In a group with one-to-one teaching as required.
Are there any additional costs?
Students may wish to purchase further blocks or their own tools, but this is not essential.
