Course Overview
The occupation involves carrying out skilled work, primarily using timber products, either on a construction site, or in a workshop, creating and installing building components. This is a core and options course, with two pathways: A Site Carpenter will normally work on a building site, or in domestic and commercial premises, preparing and fixing building components, from the initial erection of a new building, through to the installation of all necessary fixtures and fittings, as well as a range of repair and maintenance activities.
Ideal for those looking to go into the construction industry, this Level 2 is a great opportunity to gain hands on industry experience and acts as a steppingstone to moving onto to complete the Level 3 T-Level in Onsite Construction, specialising in Site Carpentry. This programme is ideal for school leavers right through to mature apprentices wanting to retrain.

To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve the following assessments:
- One externally set, externally moderated assignment
- One externally set, externally marked exam, sat under examination conditions
- Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma (T-Level) in Onsite Construction, specialising in Site Carpentry
- Level 2 apprenticeship as a site carpenter
