Papermaking – Introduction
This one-day course provides students with a rare opportunity to work with Master Papermaker Elaine Cooper, who has spent many years developing handmade papers in Japan. You will create your own papers using a variety of traditional and modern techniques, and gain a valuable insight into the art of washi and its versatility as a medium for artists and designers. The course covers the fundamentals of fibre preparation and sheet forming, including a variety of manipulative and decorative techniques. Suitable for beginners or for anyone wanting to extend their existing knowledge of papermaking.
