You should be able to demonstrate that they are working at Entry Level 2 in English and maths at a minimum, but applications will be discussed on an individual basis.
Step Up is aimed at young people who have or are currently experiencing social, emotional, and/or mental health difficulties and are working at an academic level of around Level 1. Learners may have struggled in school or may have been unable to attend school due to their difficulties, meaning that they dont have the grades to access wider college programmes and need support in identifying their personal strengths and areas for development. Those who successfully complete their programme will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the appropriate level.
You will undertake a range of practical and classroom based activities. You will be assessed using a variety of methods, such as practical observations in activities such as cooking or volunteering, presentations, written work, and self-reflection.
Those who successfully complete the course may progress to wider college Level 1 or 2 programmes, a Traineeship, and Project Search.
No additional costs.
