Course Overview

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by covering the following mandatory units; facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, client care, health and safety and applying make-up. Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice, client care and anatomy and physiology, you will develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.

This course will involve 1 evening session a week as part of the main programme.

Progression from L1 Beauty Therapy


4 x GCSE's at grade 3 or above (Maths, English and Science) and must include Maths or English at grade 4

You will need to purchase some materials and kit and a uniform at the start of your course. There may be some additional costs to cover course trips, these will be discussed when you start your year of study.
The core content of this course focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the beauty sector, supporting you to gain the transferable and core skills you will require within the beauty industry. You will cover a range of topics including manicure & pedicure, facial, make-up, eye treatments and waxing. The programme develops skills and reflects working in beauty salons and spas, you will complete minimum of 60 hours work experience within the industry.
Assessment will take the form of practical assessments and external end of unit exams.
You could progress onto level 3 beauty therapy or complementary therapy, or employment within a hotel, spa or salon.
