In a nutshell, SWAPs are for over 19s who are either not in work or are on a low income. Job Coaches would normally refer people who are on Universal Credit onto the courses but people can enrol directly through the college. Please chat with your Job Coach if you have one. Most SWAPs will have some level of Work Experience and/or hands-on taster sessions. We always partner with at least one employer who have live jobs available and at the end of the SWAP, leaners are guaranteed a job interview for one of those jobs. As well as the sector specific training, we will also run a Skills Health Check which will look at your levels of English, maths and ICT as well as looking at more general employability around CVs, covering letters, applying for jobs, progression pathways and preparing you for the workplace.
