Glass Techniques - Advanced (23/24)

Course Overview

This Advanced Glass Techniques course is for students with prior knowledge of glassworking techniques and will include tutor support and the facilities to practice more complex skills glass techniques and processes. The tutor will also offer advice and encouragement for students to develop self-generated designs, leading to a professional standard of original glasswork. Students who have previously attended the Glass Techniques course here at Bath College, or any other similar glass course, are welcome to join.

What topics are covered?

The projects will be chosen by each student and cover a diverse range of glass processes. They include larger traditional leaded panels, more complex 2D or 3D copperfoil projects, as well as a range of kiln techniques for glass, such as fusing, slumping, casting etc. Students can devise their own projects according to their skills and experience, as well as the tutor suggesting topics which will extend the possibilities of this amazing material. Firing of kiln formed projects is included within the weekly activities of this class.

All materials will be provided by the student. Glass, lead and solder can be bought from the college shop.
Your tutor will provide you with a list of additional resources you will need during the course such as A3 work books, digital camera, scissors, craft knife and various adhesives.
