Course Overview

The UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to degree level study and employment in the media sector. It provides an opportunity for those who have an interest in media to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study.

To study at Level 3, you will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and Maths.
IT equipment required for the course is provided by the College. However, it would be an advantage if learners have an appropriate device (PC/Mac, Laptop, Tablet) at home for independent study.
This diploma will enable learners to develop a portfolio of work that could support progression into a range of higher education courses.Those who successfully complete their programme will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the appropriate level.

Units 17 of the Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology will be internally assessed and internally verified through students' portfolios of evidence. Unit 8, the final unit of the Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology will be internally assessed and externally moderated and is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction which determines the overall final grade for the qualification.

Most learners may firstly progress to the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Year 2) to complete an equivalent of 3 A-Levels. Some learners may pursue apprenticeship avenues or seek full-time employment upon completion of this course. 

Upon completion of a 2-Year Extended Diploma, learners may consider higher education pathways in Media Production, Creative Enterprise, Print or Broadcast Journalism, Web Design, Photography, Animation, Graphic Design or careers in industries that involve elements of TV, radio, interactive media and publishing.
