This 1 year course will introduce you to a range of 2D & 3D processes and techniques. You will use drawing and visual research as a starting point and learn and develop a broad range of practical techniques including, drawing techniques, photography, printmaking, textiles, digital skills and ceramics. You will research relevant artists and designers to inspire and guide your own work and visit local galleries and museums throughout the year. On successfully completing this programme, you will achieve a UAL Diploma in Art and Design Level 2.

What topics are covered?
How will I be taught and assessed?

The work is assessed through short projects which is course work based. Students will work in sketchbooks and create PowerPoints to build a portfolio of work. A final major project will be set at the end of the year, this is a ten-week exam project where students choose a more personal theme to show and develop previously learnt skills.

What can I do next?

You can progress onto Level 3 Art and Design, Photography, Fashion and Textiles, Graphic Design or Media Courses. Some students choose to progress onto Level 3 courses, find local apprenticeships or placements through job search.
