Do you want to turn your ideas and creativity into a professional career? This Level 3 Art and Design course will help you progress your career and build a strong portfolio.
Plus, the qualification is awarded by the University of the Arts London, so you have a clear pathway to university and creative work.
Why should you take this course?
You need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including a creative subject, English Language, and Maths.
You will also need to attend an interview to see if the course is right for you.
If the course isn't right for you, our tutors recommend the Level 2 Art and Design or the Level 1 Art, Design & Media.
You will learn at the City Centre Campus in Bath.
The City Centre Campus offers specialised studios, workshops, and a Mac and PC suite to help you become a skilled, confident creative.
Projects start with drawing from subjects, including real-life figures.
An experienced tutor leads every session.
This means you learn the best practices from people who currently work in the creative industry.
At the end of the course, you will complete the Final Major Project.
You will receive feedback throughout the final project to help you improve your knowledge and key creative skills.
As part of your research, you will have the opportunity to attend research activities and galleries.
You can continue to your second year studying the Level 3 at Bath College.
After you complete the full Diploma, you can study an undergraduate degree at university.

You can also apply for your first junior or entry role in the creative industry.
After the first year you can continue to study your chosen pathway on an Extended Diploma for a second year to further develop your art and design skills.For those who complete Level 3, it's possible to progress onto the Foundation Art and Design or directly onto undergraduate (university) qualifications or find employment within the diverse creative industry. Students have progressed onto degree courses such as illustration, animation, fine art, 3D model making, sculpture, interior design, ceramics, fashion and textiles and photography.
There may be some additional costs to cover course trips, these will be discussed when you start your year of study. You may also need to purchase some art materials as you progress through the course.
The Art and Design pathways and levels are designed to help you gain confidence, establish a solid foundation of knowledge, and develop your core creative skills. In addition to a portfolio of work, on successful completion you will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification issued by University of the Arts London (UAL).
The college provides basic materials for the course.
However, you may need some equipment to finish your own creative projects.
Study trips will cost extra, but you will be told about them ahead of time.
