Want to take the next step towards a career in the automotive industry? If you want a practical course to learn routine maintenance and repair techniques, this is for you.
You will also build your automotive skills with work placement opportunities, so you feel confident when you apply for an apprenticeship or entry-level automotive role.
You must complete the Introduction to Motor Vehicle and Transport Maintenance Level 1 to join this course.
Along with this, you will attend an interview to see if the course is right for you.
You will also need a positive reference from your tutor.
You will learn in the advanced Motor Vehicle workshop at the Somer Valley Campus.
Here, you will experience a realistic automotive space while you learn valuable automotive skills for your first role.
A work placement is part of this course.
This prepares you for a real automotive opportunity and helps you stand out in the job market as an experienced, young technician.
We encourage you to find your own placement and look at the opportunities the college offers.
Assessments are a mix of practical and written because Bath College wants you to meet the current demands in the automotive industry.
You can progress to an automotive apprenticeship after you complete this course to earn a salary while you learn in a real garage.
Or, if you would like to continue studying, you can progress to a higher-level automotive qualification.
