Do you want to become a qualified bricklayer? If you love hands-on learning and working outdoors over academic studies, this course is for you.
Bricklaying has a strong earning potential, and the job is in high demand. This means you won't struggle to find work once you qualify.
Why should you take this course?
You need a GCSE grade 3 or above in English and Maths or hold a Level 1 Bricklaying qualification.
You will need to attend an interview to see if the course is right for you.
If the course isn't the right fit, our tutors recommend the Introduction to Bricklaying Level 1.
You will attend workshops in the Construction Centre at the Somer Valley Campus in Radstock.
The Construction Centre offers a practical workshop where you can learn the bricklaying trade in a realistic on-site environment.
This means you wont feel out of place when you get your first bricklaying job.
And our tutors have construction experience, so you will learn all the relevant skills employers want when hiring a bricklayer.
After this course, you're ready to apply for your first bricklaying role.
Or, if you want to specialise in a certain area of bricklaying, you can study a Level 3 Bricklaying qualification.
Many previous learners have secured bricklaying jobs in Somerset and the wider area.
Other learners are now self-employed or run their own business.
If you're unsure about your next step, you can speak to our friendly Careers Advisers.
The team can help you write a CV, apply for a job, practice for a job interview, and feel confident when you job search.
