Do you want to become a qualified carpenter? This qualification is the next step after you complete the Level 2 Carpentry course.
You will develop specialist carpentry skills and knowledge to secure your first job working on a site or in homes.
Why should you take this course?
You need a grade 4 or above in Maths and English and a Level 2 Carpentry qualification.
If this course isn't right for you, our tutors recommend either the Level 2 Carpentry or the Level 1 Introduction to Carpentry and Joinery.
You will attend workshops at the Somer Valley Campus in the Construction Centre.
With specialist tools and the help of expert tutors, you will develop the advanced skills to prepare for your first job as a carpenter.
You will learn specialist site tasks along with key health and safety units.
Industry specialist lecturers guide every workshop.
You will complete theory sessions and practical sessions.
Assessments will be both practical and theoretical to shape your knowledge for the site.
You can work as a qualified carpenter on-site or work in customers' houses after you complete this course.
Or you can progress your career in Higher Education.

Additional costs will depend upon several factors which will be discussed at interview stage.
You will be seeking to consolidate your skills and knowledge of the trade in order to progress to become a specialist in site carpentry. This pathway is suited for people aged 16-18 and may also meet the needs of mature students up to 25 years. Those who successfully complete their programme will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the level 3.
There are no fees to study this course.
