The Elevate programme of study is designed to be accessible to a wide range of learners. While the preferred entry requirements are a Grade 2 in English and Maths, we understand that not all learners will have formal qualifications. As a result, each applicant will be assessed individually.
Upon application, learners will be asked to complete a diagnostic assessment to determine their starting point. This will help Bath College tailor the programme to each learner’s needs and provide appropriate careers advice and guidance.
Delivery: Lecturers will adopt different approaches such as classroom taught
sessions, digital lessons, practical opportunities and workshop sessions to help
you develop subject knowledge.
Assessment: Learners will be assessed through
a range of internal assessments including assignment writing, demonstrations and
presentations.
Learners who achieve a MP Grade at the end of the course and achieve a 4 in English Language and/or Maths can progress to a higher level of study.
IT equipment required for the course is provided by the College. However, it would be an advantage if learners have an appropriate device (PC, Laptop, Tablet) at home for independent study. All learners are expected to bring their own notepads, pens and relevant stationery supplies to college, so that they are ready to learn.
The range of units in each Elevate pathway has been carefully chosen to assist learners in making informed decisions about their career pathways while also preparing them for a Level 2 programme of study. By engaging with a diverse range of units, learners will have the opportunity to explore different subject areas and develop a broad skill set that will help guide their future educational and professional choices.
Additionally, learners will benefit from interactions with teaching staff
from various curriculum areas, providing them with valuable exposure to
different expertise and approaches. This well-rounded experience ensures that
learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in
their next stage of learning.
