We have adult (19+) ESOL courses at different levels with a maximum class size of 16 students.
You can attend classes in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.
We offer both exam classes and non-exam classes to meet a variety of learner needs.
Before enrolling in a course, you will be invited for an English language assessment, so we can assess your English language level.
Why take this course?
The ESOL courses will make life easier for you in the UK:
We welcome anybody who wants to learn English as a second language.
For our adult ESOL programmes, you will need to be 19 years old.
We will invite you to an English language assessment. This will help our tutors choose the best course level for you.
You will need to bring in your immigration documents so we can check that you're allowed to study in the UK.
You will learn:
You will progress through the levels to help you join your community and find work with confidence.
These skills help you get a job or study in further education (FE) or higher
education (HE) to open the door to better job roles.
All your classes are in the Bath City Centre Campus.
An English language teacher will help you in every class to help you progress.
The academic year is split into three terms. Classes start each term and run for 8 to 15 weeks.
You can go to morning, afternoon, or *evening classes to fit your schedule. Lessons are twice a week.
*Evening classes are hybrid = 2 lessons per week, one lesson online and one face-to-face in college.
ESOL Qualification Courses (Exam Classes)
ESOL Non-Exam Classes
If you enrol on our college certificate course, you will receive feedback and assessment on your individual learning goals, and a certificate of completion from Bath College.
If you enrol on an accredited qualification, you will receive a certificate in your chosen subject area issued by the Ascentis awarding organisation. The level of your qualification will depend on your initial assessment, however we offer courses that align with the Common European Framework (CEF) levels A0 to C1, equivalent to Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Pre-Entry to Level 2.
We aim to help non-native speakers to improve their English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
This will help you make friends in your community, make it easier to get a job, and increase your confidence for daily life in the UK.
You may be able to study for free. But this depends on your situation.
