This introductory course is designed for anyone interested in exploring careers, volunteering opportunities, or further study within the education and early years sector. It provides an insight into the roles, responsibilities, and skills required to support children and young people in a range of educational and childcare settings.
Learners will explore the importance of child development, learning through play, communication, safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting positive outcomes for children. The course will also examine the range of career pathways available within schools, nurseries, pre-schools, and other early years environments.
Through discussions, practical activities, case studies, and reflective exercises, participants will develop an understanding of professional expectations and gain confidence in considering progression into the sector. The course is suitable for those with little or no previous experience and provides a supportive introduction to working with children and young people.
