The T Level Transition Programme is a 16-19 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level in Business. It is aimed at learners who are not ready to start a T Level at 16 but have the potential to progress onto one. Throughout this course, learners will have their progress measured in Maths and English, Study Skills, Employability Skills and Digital Skills and will study Project Management, Quality and Legislation within this course. Learners will be expected to complete purposeful work placements and will be supported to complete a small route based project. All learners on this transitional course will complete a BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business which is accredited by the awarding body, Pearson.
This T Level Foundation Year programme is aimed at those aged 16 to 17.
To join the course, potential learners will need:
Alternatively, returning learners with a relevant level 1 qualification at Merit grade, with English and Maths at an appropriate level, and a recommendation from their tutor will be considered.
This course is specifically designed to replicate the T Level experience with the course separated into trimesters. Learners will be assessed using different methods including practical assessments, demonstrations, written assignments and external examinations.
It is anticipated that learners who successfully complete this course will progress to the T Level in Management and Administration. Some learners may pursue apprenticeship avenues or seek full-time employment.
IT equipment required for the course is provided by the College. However, it would be an advantage if learners have an appropriate device (PC, Laptop, Tablet) at home for independent study.
The purpose of this course is to support learners to transition from Level 2 to an appropriate T-Level at Level 3.
