What topics are covered?
How will I be taught and assessed?

This highly practical course involves working in workshop, studio, and classroom settings. You will study in class, groups, individually, and you will also be expected to work independently outside of college hours. You will create practical work individually and in small groups for performance, learn set material, take notes during lecture-based sessions and complete written assignments. Assessment is continuous throughout the year and in many different forms, focusing on input and ideas throughout the creative process, leading to performance. For Example: Vlogs, written journals, reflections, research discussions, creative books, and live performances, understanding music industry roles and current trends.

What can I do next?

Depending on where you start this pathway, you can progress to Level 2 or 3 of Music, Creative, or Media Production. There is also an opportunity (once completing the necessary level course) to audition for our Level 3 Performing and Production Arts course. Outside of the College, you can move on to employment within the Music or Performing Arts sector. You can go on to work in the performing arts industry in an apprenticeship, or (for those who achieve Level 3) you can take your studies further at university.
