Do you want to build the practical skills for an accounting career? The AAT Accounting Award in Bookkeeping Level 1 course is your ideal starting point.
No experience or knowledge is needed. This recognised qualification will give you the confidence to take higher AAT qualifications and handle simple bookkeeping tasks.

Why should you take this course?
As a beginner, this course introduces you to the world of bookkeeping. You'll gain all the key knowledge and understanding to progress your bookkeeping career.
This course is for adults aged 18 and over.
You don't need any accounting or bookkeeping knowledge, so this course is the ideal first step towards your accounting career goals.
A basic level of English and Maths will help you succeed.
We will invite you to an interview. This may include an assessment to see if the course is right for you. Here, you can also ask any questions about the qualification.
This course has one unit. Each topic will help you develop the basic skills needed for further AAT qualifications or entry-level bookkeeping roles.
You'll learn face-to-face with an expert tutor in the classroom to receive personal feedback and build confidence, so you feel ready for your assessment.
There is an assessment at the end of the course. It will take place on a computer at the Bath City Centre Campus.
If you can't travel to campus to sit your exam, you'll need to arrange this with a different venue and pay an extra fee. This gives you control over how you gain your qualification.
This course gives you the skills and knowledge to study the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping to progress towards advanced career opportunities.

You will need to register for AAT student membership to study this qualification.
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course.
