What topics are covered?

You'll work or volunteer in care and learn theory in class. This blend of practical work experience and knowledge will give you the key employment skills.

  • Learn to give or assist people with medication to develop your workplace skillset.
  • Improve your quality of care through infection control measures.
  • Assist with daily personal care activities through practical experience.
How will I be taught and assessed?

To complete the course, you must complete a mix of fixed and optional units to get 58 credits:

  • Fixed units 13 units and 39 credits.
  • Optional units a minimum of 19 credits, with at least 35 credits earned at Level 3 or above.

This blended and supportive structure helps you meet your career goals and progress at work.

Weekly workshop classes will be held in person, with some skills viewing in your workplace.

You will join remote classes on Microsoft Teams to learn theory.

You'll be assessed through a portfolio of evidence to show your skills in the workplace, not on paper or through an exam.
