You do not need any qualifications to start.

This is a safe space to learn the basics and prepare for work in a salon. Everybody is welcome.

All that we ask is that you are friendly and ready to learn.

What topics are covered?

This qualification is a taster for beginners. You will learn how to prepare for the industry without practising complex techniques in the following modules:

  • Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
  • Presenting a professional image in a hair and beauty salon
How will I be taught and assessed?

You will learn in person at our real salon a modern, stylish space with professional, quality equipment.

This will give you a clear understanding of the salon environment as you learn.

Other lessons will be online, so you can study from the comfort of your own home. This hybrid blend helps you balance your study and work, childcare, or care commitments.

Plus, our tutors have industry experience, so you will learn from professionals who understand how a salon works and what employers value.

Classes are low-pressure with no exams and this is the ideal practical setting to explore hair and beauty before you commit to a full-time qualification.

What can I do next?

You can progress to a level 2 qualification in hair, beauty, or makeup to build work-ready skills for a salon.
