Entry Requirements

You need a grade 4 in English Language and Maths.

We will also invite you to an interview. Don't worry, there is no test. This is a chance to see if the course is right for you and ask questions.

How will I be taught and assessed?

You will learn at the Somer Valley Campus in Radstock in the plumbing workshops.

Practical workshops will help you build confidence through real plumbing techniques and hands-on experience to prepare for your next step.

In the classroom, you will build a practical portfolio.

Your portfolio will be assessed, but this is a chance to prove your progress through practical work.

As well as this, online assessments will give you the knowledge that employers in the building services sector want when they hire a plumber.

What can I do next?

After you complete this qualification, you can secure a plumbing apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you will learn on the job, get paid, and grow your plumbing skills with the help of a senior plumber.

Once you complete the apprenticeship, you can build your career from the ground up with your chosen company.

Or, if you want to become self-employed, you could start your own plumbing business and become your own boss.
