Want to build skills to support the next generation's learning in the classroom? This part-time course gives you the knowledge to make a positive difference in the lives of young children.
If you already work in a school, this qualification is ideal to help you progress and become a skilled member of your team.
Why should you take this course?
You must be 18 and over to study this qualification.
You also need to already work in a school or find a placement for at least one day per week in a role supporting children.
Plus, you need to have a grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards a qualification in Maths.
You will then be invited to an interview, and this may include an assessment.
But don't worry this is to make sure the qualification is right for you.

This course has 11 mandatory units and will cover some of the following areas:

You will be taught by a specialist tutor via face-to-face lessons in the classroom. Your learning will be enhanced through group activities including presentations, discussions and project work. There will be additional information sessions on various topics like Mental Health Awareness or Interview Skills.
You will be expected to complete a number of written assignments at the required standard, and receive workplace observations where you will be given supportive feedback to enhance your learning further. Units are assessed via a variety of methods: presentations, discussions, journals and observations in the setting. There are no exams for this qualification.
