How will I be taught and assessed?

This vocational qualification is taught through a mixture of practical and theory lessons, with further learning and understanding developed via directed self-study. Assessment consists of internally set coursework and assignments, in addition to externally set exams.

What can I do next?

On successful completion of the course, you can progress onto a Level 3 plumbing qualification or move onto employment within the heating and plumbing sector, renewables sector or gas industry. There are also opportunities to go into related apprenticeships with greater focus workplace experience.

Are there any additional costs?

Learners must provide safety boots and ensure they have clothing that is appropriate for a workshop environment.

The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing sector. This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified plumbers as it does not require occupational evidence from the workplace so is suitable for learners who currently do not work within the plumbing industry and may wish to prepare for study for an apprenticeship.
