Frequently Asked Questions

Entry Requirements

They do not need formal grades to study the course, but they do need an EHCP. This helps us offer the right level of support for the learner.

Previous learners on the Supported Internships also:

  • Work at Entry Level 3 (academically or functionally).
  • Feel motivated to gain real work experience.
  • Can engage in supported workplace routines.
  • Can travel to and from work with supervision if needed.

All applicants complete a safe, judgment-free admission process.

The process involved a friendly meeting with the tutor, a review of the learner's EHCP, and a conversation with you, the parent or carer.

Don't worry, there are no tests or exams. This process helps our tutors make sure the course is right for them and reduces their anxiety.

If the course isn't the right fit, our experts will help you find another option.

Learners who need a step before full workplace integration can study the Future Steps to Work (Pre-Internship).

If they need more time to build independence, the Future Skills or Future Choices courses could be the next natural step.

Finally, Step into FE will help them rejoin education before employment.

At Bath College, there is an option for everybody to learn.

- Learners will have the opportunity to develop practical skills, gain workplace experience, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Employability Sessions (Friday):
- Each Friday, learners will participate in instructor-led employability sessions aimed at developing essential job skills.
- Sessions will cover a range of topics including CV writing, interview techniques, workplace communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- The sessions will be interactive, engaging, and tailored to the specific needs and aspirations of the learners.

Dedicated Job Coaches:
- Experienced job coaches will provide intensive support to both employers and learners throughout the duration of the work placements.
