Entry Requirements

These courses are predominantly for 16-19 year olds and have different requirements depending on level. To study at Level 3, 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English or maths.

What topics are covered?
How will I be taught and assessed?

You will study in a variety of ways, including presentations, group work, role-plays, and study trips. Assessment is both internal and external, and includes written exams and marked assignments.

What can I do next?

A large number of our Level 2 students progress onto Level 3, but some may choose to do an apprenticeship linked to the industry. Students who complete Level 3 can progress to higher education to study a degree in tourism at university. Over 50% of our learners select this route and study on a wide range of degree programmes including, Tourism Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Events Management to name but a few. You can also enter the travel and tourism industry and gain employment in a number of sectors. Over the last few years students have gained employment with tour operators, airlines, visitor attractions and hotels.

Are there any additional costs?

There may be some additional costs to cover the trips you will go on, these will be discussed when you start your year of study, however, your course fees will subsidise a number of these trips.

What is the aim of the course?

This programme will take you from the very basics right up to a detailed working knowledge of the travel and tourism industry. You'll gain a range of specialist skills, giving you an excellent preparation for employment in the sector. On successfully completing the course, you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the appropriate level.
