Woodworking & DIY Carpentry
This practical three-week evening course provides an introduction to woodworking and DIY carpentry for beginners and those wishing to develop their practical skills. Learners will gain experience in using a range of woodworking tools and equipment safely, understanding basic carpentry techniques, measuring and working accurately with timber, and completing simple woodworking tasks. The course focuses on building confidence, developing practical problem-solving skills, and gaining the knowledge needed to undertake DIY projects at home. By the end of the course, learners will have a better understanding of woodworking principles and the skills required to complete basic carpentry projects safely and effectively.
What you will learn:
- Safe use of common woodworking hand and power tools
- Measuring, marking and cutting timber accurately
- Basic carpentry techniques and assembly methods
- Sanding, finishing and project preparation
