Accounting for Employment

Course Overview

Our Finance & accounting study programme will provide you with a range of skills, knowledge and qualifications to begin your career in the finance and accounting sector. You will study industry recognised accountancy qualifications in AAT and learn how to use software like SAGE developing highly effective problem solving and numeracy skills.

What topics are covered?

You’ll complete L1 and L2 qualifications in AAT and develop core problem solving, digital and employability skills. You’ll learn how to navigate SAGE software and develop great bookkeeping skills.

What are the entry requirements?

GCSE Maths and English at B/5 or above.

What qualifications will I gain?

AAT level 2 plus work experience.

How will I learn?

You’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable industry skills and apply the knowledge you have gained through an industry placement. The course is delivered to include practical tasks and activities within a workplace, classroom based learning and exams.

How will I be assessed?

Exam and e-portfolio.

What can I do after this course?

Our intent is for successful learners to progress to employment or an apprenticeship programme for example:

  • Employment whilst studying ACCA Level 3 part-time
  • Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship or Accounting Technician Apprenticeship

 

There are also number of full time L3 or Higher Education programmes you may choose to pursue after you have successfully completed your study programme.

Where will I need to go on my first day?

On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.

What do I need to bring?

Calculator, pen, paper.

What else do I need to know?

As a full-time student at Bath College, you will follow a study programme consisting of a vocational diploma, maths and English, employability skills, volunteering and tutorial. Please visit our Study Programmes page for details.
