IT Application Specialist Advanced Apprenticeship
This course offers an opening to a career in almost any industry that uses IT regularly as well as being suitable for those specifically interested in a career in IT. It offers a good basis for those using advanced IT in their day-to-day duties and can be specifically tailored towards design, repairs, hardware or software, printing and image production as well as many other areas. There are both technical and customer-facing roles available and learners could find themselves in placements at schools and colleges, in the financial services or in local repair shop. It is suited to those already using IT skills in their daily work or those who have already taken an IT apprenticeship at Level 2.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates must be able to demonstrate level 2 skills in English and maths
What qualifications will I gain?
To achieve a full award, candidates must complete:
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in IT User Skills
Functional Skills at level 2 in English and Maths
Functional Skills at level 2 in ICT
How will I be assessed?
Assessment of the NVQ element is carried out in the workplace and the assessor will help you to identify any gaps through exercises and activities set between assessment visits.
Functional skills will be taught and assessed in College for one day per week with a class and tutor and will finish with a series of exams.
What can I do after this course?
The qualification allows a candidate to progress to either the workplace as detailed above or onto specialised qualifications at the same, or higher level.
