Level 3
Are you ready to build the technical skills for salon work? If you completed the Level 2 in Beauty Therapy, this course is the next step.
You will practice complex treatments and earn the final qualification to apply for paid salon work or become your own boss.
Why should you study this course?
You need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.
Most importantly, you need to complete the Level 2 Beauty Therapy course before you take this Level 3 qualification.
You will attend an interview to make sure the course is right for you.
Our tutors will ask you about your career goals and any support you may need.
They will also look for:
If the path isn't the right fit for you, our tutors will recommend Level 2 Hairdressing, Level
3 Complementary Therapies, or Level 3 BTEC Production and Media for makeup.
Each module gives you the advanced beauty skills to secure your first professional beauty job.
You can also explore the following optional specialist units:
And these micro-units can help you find a new interest and specialise in a specific area to pursue in your career.
Lessons focus on practical learning to develop complex treatment skills for salon work.
Every lesson takes place in The Academy, Bath College's professional-standard salon on the City Centre Campus, open to the public in Bath.
The Academy facilities include:
This means you get a taste of the professional salon environment before you apply for real work.
And this puts you ahead of others in the job market.
With professional, modern equipment, you only build relevant skills and experience.
Throughout the course, our experienced tutors will supervise every lesson.
This means each class helps you take the next step towards real salon work with purpose.
During the course, you will sit a mixture of practical and theoretical assessments.
The mixture helps you build health and safety, creative, and practical skills to become a complete, successful beauty therapist.
After this course, you are ready to work in a salon or another professional beauty environment.
But it doesn't end in a salon.
Many previous learners go on to work in spas, cruise ships, hotels, and wellness centres.
And many even become their own boss.
If you would like to learn on the job, you can apply for an apprenticeship in spa or beauty therapy.
And if you want to continue studying, you can move on to the Level 3 Complementary Therapies, or a Level 4 Advanced Aesthetics or Electrotherapy.
