Bench Joinery Level 2 Diploma (Part Time)
This Bench Joinery Level 2 Diploma course is designed for adult learners who are unable to commit to a Full-Time course. You will have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to enable you to work in the industry of your chosen craft. Study units will include building materials and construction technology. You will learn how to produce doors, windows, base and wall units and stairs, and how to carry out other joinery-based operations.
What topics are covered?
You will develop skills and knowledge to enable you to work in the Joinery industry or other related wood, workshop based, occupations.
What are the entry requirements?
Applications will be assessed on an individual basis by the course tutor to ensure suitability for the course. Entry to the course will be by interview and will depend on previous experience, commitment and the academic ability required for a level of self-study required on the course. Minimum grades C/4 in Maths and English. Achievement of L1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery is preferable.
How will I learn?
There will be practical workshop sessions and classroom theory sessions.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through workshop-based practical assessments and multiple choice end-of-unit knowledge tests.
What can I do after this course?
On completion of this course, you will be able to progress to the Advanced Level 3 Bench joinery class to hone your skills further with more complex tasks.
Are there any additional costs?
You will need to purchase Safety boots and a basic stationery kit.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Cam Building at Somer Valley Campus.
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full.
