Engineering: CAD – 2D
This course offers students a varied programme which will include the following aspects of CAD: 2-D drawing commands, 2-D, isometric, surface modelling, annotation and dimensioning, setting up multiple viewports, scaling and layers. It is designed for those who have none or very little previous knowledge of AutoCAD 2015.
What topics are covered?
You will learn a range of AutoCAD features including how to use and apply drawing and modifying commands, drawing aids, control object visibility and appearance, dimensioning of components, use blocks and hatching, set up appropriate drawing layouts to correct scales, and print and plotting. You will also be encouraged to bring in your own work examples to share with others so that a wide range of experience can be gained by all. Please note: the College does not provide CAD software programs or encourage students to use software that is not appropriately licenced to the user.
Who is the course aimed at?
Anyone wishing to learn CAD 2D no experience necessary. Suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their knowledge.
How will I learn?
You can work at your own pace. You will also be encouraged to bring in your own work examples to share with others so that a wide range of experience can be gained by all.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Pen and notepad.
What else do I need to know?When you have been enrolled on your course you will receive a confirmation email containing information about where to go, campus information, parking and the Student Code of Conduct. This email will be sent to the email address provided in the online booking.You will be required to wear a photographic ID badge at all times when in College. Please email a passport style photograph stating your full name and course title in the subject line to StudentID@bathcollege.ac.uk
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full. Please see Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.The course will not run on bank holidays or during half term. Please check the term dates.

Refunds will not be issued if a learner is unable to attend due to a change of mind including concerns about Covid-19, accommodation, domestic circumstances, work commitments or if the College requires a learner to leave for reasons of conduct.
