Commis Chef Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship
A commis chef is the most common starting position in many kitchens and in principle the most junior role. A commis chef prepares food and carries out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of a more senior chef.

What are the entry requirements?
Minimum of ‘D/3’ grade in GCSE English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 1.

How will I learn?
You will learn through theory, on the job training and a one-day a week day release.
What hours will I be in college?
One-day a week day release.
How will I be assessed?
Four end-point assessments.
What can I do after this course?
Successful students can progress onto a level 3 catering qualification (full-time or apprenticeship), or employment in pubs, restaurants or hotels.

Course costs depend on the age of the student, the size of employer and if the employer is levy.
Are there any additional costs?
You will be required to purchase chef whites and knives separately.
