Garden Design: Front Gardens
This garden design course looks at ways to improve and refresh your front garden with support and help from a professional garden designer. You are welcome to bring along ideas for your own front garden projects to be discussed in class.
What topics are covered?
The design possibilities of your front garden;
Suitable paving for paths and driveways;
An appreciation of current rules on drainage;
Good plants for stylish front gardens.
Who is the course aimed at?
Suitable for anyone who feels that their existing front garden could be more interesting or who is planning a new driveway.
Who will be my tutor?
The award winning garden designer Christine Pritchard. http://www.christinepritchard.co.uk/
How will I learn?
The students will be engaged with new ideas or techniques throughout both sessions.
Students will be shown model gardens, samples of landscaping materials and plants.
They will have regular opportuities to discuss their own gardening problems and solutions with feedback from the group and the tutor.
Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Cam Building at Somer Valley Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Some photographs of their garden if they would like to. A pen/pencil.
Handouts will be provided.
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full. The course will not run on bank holidays or during half term. Please check the term dates.
