Hair and Make-Up for Media and Theatre VTCT Diploma Level 2
The VTCT Level 2 Hair and Make-up for Media and Theatre course specialises in developing skills necessary to work with make-up brands and the world of TV, film and theatre. The qualification covers technical make-up application, fashion and editorial make-up, dress and finish hair, face and body art, specific character make-up design allowing learners to understand the process of filming relating to make-up in TV and film and enter a college competition. The Hair and Media Make Up industry is very competitive and is predominately self employed. Specialist working to individual briefs will need to be demonstrated in your portfolio evidence.

Who is the course aimed at?
This level 2 course is most suited for people aged 16-18 and may also meet the needs of mature students up to 25 years.

What are the entry requirements?
- Four full GCSEs including English language and Maths at grade D/3 or above
- OR a Level 1 Diploma in Beauty or Hairdressing
- You must be at least 16 years of age

Who will be my tutor?
How will I learn?
Continuous practice of skills on peers, clients and models to prefect skills. During theory lessons learners will learn the underpinning knowledge for the units theory examination.
How will I be assessed?
Units are internally and externally assessed. Continuous practical assessment is used to achieve unit ranges on completion of the unit ranges a practical end of unit assessment will be assessed and marked pass, merit or distinction. Learners will be required to undertake two externally set theory paper. A final practical assessment will be externally set on a range of the units completed throughout the course. Points achieved from all graded practical and theory assessment will add up to the learners final course grand.
