Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Level 3 NVQ (Part Time)
This course covers the advanced occupational practical skills and knowledge required to work in service and maintenance roles within the air-conditioning and heat pump system industry. This qualification is suitable if you wish to pursue a career in servicing and maintaining air conditioning and heat pump system roles within the air conditioning and heat pump system industry. Ideally you should already have undertaken the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Installing, Testing and Maintaining Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (600/0912/3) or already possess a basic understanding of air-conditioning and heat pump systems and would already be working within the air-conditioning industry as an operative. Both the certificate and the diploma versions of the qualification are available.
What topics are covered?
- Understand how to organise resources within Building Services Engineering
- Understand Halocarbon ‘fluorinated’ air conditioning and heat pump systems service and maintenance techniques
- Service and maintain halocarbon ‘fluorinated’ air conditioning and heat pump systems
- Understand and carry out electrical work on RAC systems and component
What are the entry requirements?
Successful interview and relevant experience or a level 2 in Air Conditioning.
What qualifications will I gain?
There are 2 qualifications available at Level 3:
- NVQ Certificate in Servicing and Maintaining Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems
- NVQ Diploma in Servicing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems
How will I be assessed?
Both level 3 qualifications will involve theoretical study assessed by online examination along with a NVQ portfolio of workplace evidence backed with two on site assessments. Predominantly the portfolio will be made up of maintenance, commissioning, decommissioning and fault-finding evidence on commercial to industrial RACHP systems.
